Meet Our Nannies

Liz S.
I am currently a junior at K-State; still deciding whether to major in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.  I am originally from Hays, Kansas, and my family means the world to me; I have two older brothers and one sister.  I love spending as much time with them as I can.  In my free time I enjoy playing sports, being outside, and spending time with friends.  Since I can remember I have been working with children.   Some of my past experience inlcudes; counselor at a summer camp for four years, part-time nanny/sitter, and assistant teacher at a local preschool.  I absolutely love working with children! I am very excited to meet more families in this area, and get to know your children; therefore, learn their unique personilities!

Currently I am a junior at K-State, majoring in Equine Science. I am originally from Lindsborg, Kansas, also known as “Little Sweden”. I absolutely adore my family, they're amazing! I started babysitting at an early age; therefore I have lots of experience with child of all ages. This past summer I worked at Pine Cove Woods Family Camp in Tyler, Texas. I enjoyed ministering to all of the children who attended with their families. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, art, being outdoors, swimming, traveling, ballet, interior decorating, laughing and enjoying life! :)

I am a student at Kansas State University studying Elementary Education and focusing in English As a Second Language.  I grew up in a small town in Ohio, but moved to Kansas City three years ago.  It was in Kansas City where I started working part time at a Kindercare.  I immediately feel in love with the job and the children, and have worked there for two years.  I have worked with many diverse children including twins, triplets, and learning and behavioral challenges.  All the children I’ve worked with have been between the ages of six weeks to twelve years old.  With my job I have had the most experience with one to two year olds.  My favorite part about working with children is being able to watch a child discover and learn something new, and knowing that I played a part in leading them to their discoveries.   Since coming to school I have missed my job at Kindercare and I’ve enjoyed becoming a part of Manhattan Nanny Service.  Also, I am very excited to work with your family and your family’s children in all your childcare needs!!

I am a recent graduate from Kansas State University, with a degree in Elementary Education. Althgouth I love getting to spend time in the classroom, I really enjoy working with children one-on-one! I'm from Lindsborg, KS and have worked as a nanny since my freshman year of high school. After moving to Manhattan for college, I started working with the after school child care at a local elementary school. I thoroughly enjoyed that experience, and getting to work with kids of all ages. Children give me energy, and I always have a blast playing with them, and discovering what they like to do.
In my free time I really enjoy being outdoors, observing or participating in sports, and LOVE to spend as much time with my friends and family as I can. I am excited to get to meet you and your family!

I am a senior at K-State, majoring in Social Work, with a minor in Spanish. I was born and raised in a small town, called Ark City. As long as I have been old enough to work, I have worked with children. I love them, as they always brighten my day! I guess you could say I'm still a child at heart! I am very close with my family, and spend as much time with them as possible.
I have been an assistant teacher at a local preschool, and really enjoyed working with the ESL students, by helping them with communication. I have also been a camp counselor for two summers, caring for kids, ages 7-18. In addition, I was a swim instructor for 4 years, working with children ages 1-12 years.

I am currently a senior at K-State, but am originally from Louisburg, KS. I am majoring in Early Childhood and plan on either becoming a child psychologist or a school psychologist. I have two older sisters and two younger brothers. My oldest sister has three children, so I am a very proud aunt! I have been working with children for most of my life. I babysat my brothers when they were younger, as well as my niece and nephews. I have worked at a a couple of daycare centers and have nannied for previous families. I have worked with children ranging from infants up to around 12. I LOVE children and have for as long as I can remember. I am really excited to meet new families here in Manhattan!

I am a 23 year old graduate, with a degree in Family Studies and Human Services. I grew up in
Lindsborg, Kansas, as the oldest girl of 7 children. I
come from a very close-knit family, and grew up helping with my younger brothers and sisters. I began babysitting for other church families while in Junior High and High School. When I was a senior in high school, I became a youth leader and taught a Junior High Sunday School class,  in addition to working in the nursery.
Shortly after I moved to Manhattan for school, I began nannying on a occasional and part-time basis for a couple of families. Additionally, I have also been a camp counselor for two age groups; 4-5 years, and 10-12 years. Through all of my past child care-related work, I have gained experience in caring for newborn to Junior High age.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family.

I am a graduate from K-State with a degree in Education.  I grew up on a farm outside of Topeka with my parents, my younger sister, and my two younger brothers.  Now, my husband and I live in Manhattan and love it!  While growing up, I was often put in charge of watching my younger siblings and cousins.  I have babysat children from infants to 7 years , taught summer school to 2nd - 5th graders, been a mentor for at-risk middle school students in Manhattan, worked at various summer camps (Youthfront and Kanakuk) with 2nd - 12th graders, and I recently  finished student teaching 8th grade language arts at Junction City Middle School.  I love working with kids of all ages and having a positive impact in their lives!

I am a senior at K-State, majoring in Family studies and Human Services. I am from Olathe, Kansas, am the youngest of 3 and have 2 amazing nephews. I started babysitting at age 12 and have been in child care ever since. I much experience with all different ages of children; from newborn-12years, through working in child care centers, and previous nanny positions. I love watching children grow and learn everyday. I am very outgoing and can relate to children of all ages. I look forward to meeting new families and showing them the love I have for helping families and children.

Currently, I am a second grade teacher on the base of Fort Riley. This is my third year with the district and I absolutely love what I do. I graduated two years ago from Kansas State University with my degree in Elementary Education, emphasis in Special Education.  I grew up in a small town in the northeast corner of the state and have three younger brothers, one here at KSU and the other two are in middle and elementary school back home. From babysitting when I was younger to my student teaching practicum, I have always been interested in a career dealing with children. I am so happy to have found Manhattan Nanny Services, and I am excited to work with the families of this area!

Currently I am attending KSU, working on my Master's degree in Food Microbiology. I am originally from Overland Park, KS which is a suburb of Kansas City. I have been working in childcare for the last 9 years, and have experience in working with newborns to school-age children. In additon, I have also cared for children with special needs. I truly love children, and one of my favorite parts about being a nanny is that no one day is ever the same. Interacting with children is very rewarding because you can learn something new from them everyday, just as they can from you. My hobbies include, but are not limited to, playing with my dogs, reading, baking, hiking, playing sports, and painting (even though Im not very good at it!). I look forward to meeting you and your family!

I am student at K-State, majoring in Biology. I grew up on a farm in Overbrook, Kansas and am very family oriented. I love spending time on the family farm; helping with the animals and spending time with my younger brothers. I also have a 24 year old sister (who is a full-time nanny), a 13 year old brother, and a 9 year old brother whom our family adopted from Russia a couple of years ago. The past 2 summers, I have worked as a teacher's assistant at an elementary school, assisting with students ranging from 6 to 13 years old. During the school year, I was a swim instructor at a Topeka YMCA. While employed there, I was responsible for teaching different classes of 8 children at a time, whose ages ranged from 3 to 12 years. In addition to this, I have also done some missions work. Over Christmas break in 2008, I traveled to Haiti to spend a week in the Port-au-Paix Orphanage so the regular caregivers could enjoy Christmas with their families. While I was there, I helped care for the soon-to-be adopted toddlers. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the little ones, and bringing them gifts for Christmas. I am looking forward to meeting new families, and working with children in the Manhattan area!

I am a junior at K-State, majoring in Speech Pathology/Pre-Occupational Therapy. I am still in the process of deciding which career path to choose, but either way, I know I want to work with children! I originally grew up in Colorado, and moved to Kansas about 6 years ago. Growing up, I was always around the babies and children of my family and neighbors, and I started babysitting for various families at about age 12. I started working at a daycare center 3 years ago in Wichita, and I currently work part-time at a preschool in Manhattan. I’ve worked with children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years! I am genuinely passionate about working with children, and it is something I look forward to every day.  It continually amazes me how such little people can make such a huge impact in my life! I love to be active with children, but I also enjoy doing various craft activities, reading, and playing games along with many other things! I look forward to meeting and getting to know some of the wonderful families of Manhattan!

I am originally from a small town in Kansas; however, currently I'm taking classes through Colorado State, and the University of New South Wales. I am working towards dual degrees; one in elementary education, and the other in business administration. For the past year I worked as a full-time, live-in nanny in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to that, I worked as a tutor in an after school program at an elementary school in Fort Collins, Colorado. While in high school, I was a summer nanny for a family for three years. I am a very genuine, down-to-earth person, who truely enjoys spending time with children. Getting a good education is important to me, therefore I find teaching children new things very critical, yet rewarding. I believe I know how to make learning fun, and hope to continue to do it for many years to come!

I was born and raised in a small town in central Minnesota. I am the oldest child in my family, with 2 younger brothers. My child care experience began in high school, when I started babysitting. I have continued it the past 10 years, working as a nanny for an agency in Chicago; being a camp counselor, tutor, and zoo tour guide. I love working with children, and enjoy helping with homework, helping them learn English, or just spending time with them. My goal is to get them outside and engaged in activities that use their imagination.
I am recently completed my Master's in Public Health; therefore I care very much about preparing healthy meals, physical activity, and promoting good hand washing.

I graduated from K-State in December of 2009, with dual degrees- the first in Elementary Education with a Special Education Concentration, and the second in Music Education. My family moved to Manhattan when I was in 3rd grade, because my father was in the military. After he retired 8 years later, we stayed put in Manhattan because it had become our hometown. I started babysitting in middle school, and continued to do so throughout highschool and college. In additon, I have a great deal of experience working with children during my clinical experience for my degree, volunteering at my church where I am the Director of Music, and teaching private lessons.
I really enjoy teaching, entertaining, and caring for children. In my free time I like to read, sing, do arts & crafts, outdoor activities, and help children with their homework.

Lauren J.

My name is Lauren, and I am originally from a small Kansas town, near Salina. I grew up in a very close family, with 6 brothers and sisters. I am the second oldest girl, at age 20; with the youngest being 5 years. After high school, I moved to Ozark, Arkansas, where I attended YWAM Ozarks, which is a year-long Discipleship Training School. While there, I learned how to not only stay strong in my own faith, but also to speak to the heart of young children, while helping to nurture each child's relationship with God.
During high school, and after returning from YWAM Ozarks, I worked at The Children's Center in my hometown. Although I mostly worked in the toddler classroom, I also helped in the preschool room, as an assistant teacher. During my time there, I thoroughly enjoyed going to work everyday, spending time with all the children, while being a positive role model in the lives. In addition to working at the center, I have also been a regular sitter and/or part-time nanny for many local families. I have a great deal of experience in caring for children from only days old, to late elementary school age.
Whether I am changing diapers, or assisting with homework, I am always willing to help, because taking care of children is where my heart is.
Children are a great joy to me, and I truly love being a part of their
lives; helping them to grow up to become wonderful people .

I graduated in May of 2008 with my degree in Human Ecology and a minor in Business. I have grown to love Manhattan so much while I attended KSU that my husband and I decided to stay here! My parents are the best in the world and I blame my fun personality on them!(It's a good thing!) I grew up on a farm with my two older sisters; so even though I can be girly at times.....I still have a little bit of a tom-boy side to me!
Ever since I can remember, I have been babysitting for families around my hometown. I was a lifeguard throughout high school and part of college. It was very rewarding teaching children how to swim! I loved experiencing their excitement when they learned something new!!

I am originally from Denver, Colorado, and moved to Manhattan about a year ago. I have a great deal of experience in working with children of all ages. I started babysitting when I was 12 years old, and have continued working in the child care field ever since. I was a lifeguard for 3 years and taught swim lessons to children ranging in age from 3-12 years. I also taught preschool and toddler gymnastics course for a little over a year. For two years I worked as a nanny through another great agency, but left when my husband and I moved from Colorado, leaving our wonderful families behind.
I see nannying as not a "job", but rather a chance to be a part of somethe lives of some really amazing children. I love helping families in the Manhattan area!

I am currently a senior at Kansas State University, majoring in elementary education.  I’m originally from Labette County which is in the very Southeast corner of Kansas. I am the oldest of three children in my family, so I’ve always had the "big sister" mentality. Throughout middle school and high school I have've held many summer nanny jobs. I have worked with children from 8 months to 13 years old. I absolutely love working with children; they seem to always bring a smile to my face.
For the past few summers I have helped with Vacation Bible School in my family's church back home. I also enjoy working in the church nursery, which I have done for many years. Getting to see the children grow and learn new things just fascinates me. Not only do I get to teach them new things, but also learn a thing or two from them! They always have something fun to say that makes me laugh! I would love to get to know your family and help out
anyway I can.

I have one older brother, Chris, who is in the Psychology field and my mother is a property manager for a large communications company I am very close with my family and although we are far away from eachother now, we are still very tight knit. I have been caring for children for many years now and have taken several Early Childhood Development courses in high school, and in college. I love working with children, and I find it truly beautiful and amazing to see how genuine and honest children are! I look forward to meeting with your family!!.
